In each case, you will be able to stay with the owners and will be accompanied during your visit by the curator or head gardener.

They often contain precious and unique collections, from Mediaeval armour to rare books.

Their gardens are laid out to be in harmony with the landscape – which itself was designed to complement the house or castle it surrounded. They may contain herbaceous borders, classical statues and temples, kitchen gardens, glasshouses, arboretums and water features.
